TobyMac, an American contemporary Christian music singer, rapper, songwriter, and multi-platinum recording artist, recently sat down with Good Morning America's Chris Connelly for his first televised interview in years. During the talk, which was broadcast on August 22 on ABC, TobyMac discussed the heartbreaking loss of his 21-year-old son, Truett Foster McKeehan, who passed away at his family home in October 2019 from an accidental overdose.
TobyMac also shares how his recently released seventh studio album, "Life After Death," pays homage to his late son. "Life After Death" features 15 songs, including previously released songs "21 Years" and "Help Is On The Way (Maybe Midnight"), which charted at #1 on five charts, including the Billboard Christian Audience chart, and remained at number one on Hot AC for 13 weeks.
The third most added song on Christian radio in 2021, "Promised Land," which reached #2 on the AC Indicator and AC Monitored Charts and #5 on Christian Airplay, is also included. Other digital singles include "Everything About You (feat. Marlee)" and "Show Up Choose Love (feat. Jon Reddick)," in addition to the recently released hit song "The Goodness."
Also, making guest appearances on the album are Sheryl Crow, Zach Williams, Wande, Terrian, Sarah Reeves, Tauren Wells, Michael Tait, Kevin Max, Cory Asbury, and Gabe Real.
