Ghanaian-American Singer Moliy Surpasses 20 Million Monthly Listeners On Spotify

She is the first Ghanaian artist to exceed 20 million monthly listeners on the platform, reflecting her growing global prominence and the rising influence of African artists.

Moliy was born in Accra, Ghana, and raised between Accra and Florida, in the United States. Her exposure to musical styles such as Afrobeats, reggae, soul, jazz, and hip-hop shaped her Afro-fusion sound, which has attracted a broad international audience.

In 2021, she gained recognition with a feature on Amaarae’s track “Sad Girlz Luv Money,” alongside Kali Uchis, which entered the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 at No. 80 and peaked at No. 29 on the UK Singles Chart. She had previously released her debut EP, 'Wondergirl,' in 2020, which gained airplay in African countries including Nigeria, Kenya, and Gambia.
