Musician Joe Kay released the official music video for his single "Champion," featuring award-winning rapper Lyrical Joe, on YouTube on Friday, July 24th, more than two months after the track's original release on April 28.
The video was directed by Nii Josiah. The song's beat was produced by Yao Check Beatz, while mixing and mastering were handled by Konfem. Cover art for the release was created by Shugga Creatives.

According to the video's YouTube description, Joe Kay wrote the song from what he called a deeply personal place root in resilience, perseverance and quiet determination. He said the track reflects on the internal battles people face and the choice to rise above them, adding that true victory begins within, through mindset, belief and the strength to endure.
The artist said lines such as "In the face of adversity" and "Strength from Above" drew on his own experiences and spiritual outlook, describing a conviction that people can lean on a strength greater than themselves during their hardest moments.
The artist said the song is aimed at anyone working toward a major goal, pushing through personal struggle, or simply trying to get through a difficult day.
