Samsung And Google Reveal AI Smart Glasses In Partnership With Gentle Monster And Warby Parker

Samsung Electronics and Google have jointly unveiled their first intelligent eyewear, offering an early look at the device during Google I/O 2026. The wearable was developed in collaboration with luxury and lifestyle eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, marking a convergence of AI technology and fashion-forward design.

What the Glasses Can Do: Navigation, Translation, and More

Designed to function as a companion device to a smartphone, the intelligent eyewear leverages Google's Gemini AI to deliver a broad range of voice-activated capabilities. Users can request navigation assistance, receive personalised recommendations, such as nearby venues along a walking route, and even place pickup orders. The device also surfaces summarised notifications for important messages and supports calendar event creation through voice commands.

Among its most notable features is real-time language translation, which renders audio in the original speaker's voice and can also translate written text, such as restaurant menus or street signs, visible within the user's line of sight. All functions operate hands-free, keeping users engaged with their environment.

Gentle Monster and Warby Parker Each Bring Their Own Style 

Each brand brings a different design sensibility to the product. Gentle Monster, known internationally for its bold and avant-garde aesthetic, presents styles described as disruptive yet refined. Warby Parker, renowned for timeless and accessible design, contributes frames built around comfort, precision optics, and understated elegance.

Hankook Kim, Founder and CEO of Gentle Monster, said the goal was to unite fashion and technology in a way that feels expressive and human. Dave Gilboa, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Warby Parker, noted that every design detail was considered to ensure the technology feels natural and intuitive for daily wear.

The Glasses Work Alongside Your Samsung Phone

The eyewear is built to operate seamlessly within Samsung's Galaxy device ecosystem, enabling users to handle everyday tasks and take photos without removing their phones from their pockets. Samsung's Jay Kim described the product as an important expansion of the Galaxy ecosystem, one optimised to deliver AI experiences suited to the eyewear form factor. Google's Shahram Izadi framed the launch as part of a shared mission with Samsung to make AI practical and accessible in real-world, everyday contexts.

When Can You Buy Them?

The first collections from both Gentle Monster and Warby Parker are scheduled to go on sale this fall in select markets. Samsung and Google have indicated that additional details, including pricing, full specifications, and market availability, will be announced in the months ahead.
