Samsung Electronics has officially introduced its next generation of Galaxy foldable smartphones during Galaxy Unpacked 2026, revealing three new devices designed to combine artificial intelligence with redesigned foldable hardware.
The event, held in London on July 22, showcased the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8, marking Samsung's latest effort to expand its leadership in the foldable smartphone category.
Leading the lineup is the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the first Ultra-branded foldable in Samsung's Galaxy Z family. The company says the device brings its highest-end foldable experience together with Galaxy AI for productivity, creativity and multitasking.
Samsung also introduced an all-new Galaxy Z Fold8 form factor featuring updated display proportions intended to improve watching videos, reading, gaming and web browsing. According to the company, the device weighs just 201 grams while offering more than 26 hours of video playback on a single charge.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip8 continues Samsung's compact foldable approach with a thinner design, a stronger hinge and expanded FlexWindow capabilities. Users can view schedules, weather, notifications, exchange rates and other personalized information directly from the external display through Galaxy AI's Now Brief feature without opening the phone.
Samsung also demonstrated new AI-powered experiences across the lineup, including intelligent cross-app assistance and My FanCam, a feature that automatically reframes videos to keep a selected subject in focus.
