Committee Chair Ablakwa presents report to President Mahama

President John Mahama announced at a high-level ceremony that Ghana would no longer serve as a safe haven for corrupt practices. The president underscored his administration’s commitment to integrity, accountability, and the rule of law as he handed over the long-awaited report from the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee to the Attorney General and Minister for Justice.

"To those who stand for integrity, accountability, and the rule of law, I assure you that this government remains your steadfast partner in building a nation where honesty and hard work are rewarded," President Mahama declared during the event.

The report, which compiles findings from 36 financial cases estimated at a total value of $20.49 billion, calls for immediate action against massive financial leakages that could have otherwise been allocated to critical sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social development. Among these cases, land disputes alone account for an estimated $702.8 million.

In his summary presentation, Committee Chairman and Minister for Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa detailed that the committee received a total of 2,417 complaints, including 44 petitions, 924 emails, and 1,493 phone calls. He also noted that recent demining revelations further bolster the president’s commitment to targeting economic saboteurs and addressing systemic corruption.
