The Cincinnati team, made up of faculty members and students, will partner with UCC’s Department of Physics on aquaponics and market pricing research, led by Prof. Kwadwo Dompreh. UCC Vice-Chancellor Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong welcomed the visitors and assured them of the university’s full support.
He said cooperation between the two institutions had already produced the School of Sustainable Engineering at UCC and encouraged the group to explore cultural and tourist sites in the Central Region.
Prof. Shery Sobby, who led the Cincinnati delegation, thanked UCC management for what she called generous hospitality.
In a separate engagement, Prof. Boampong also received faculty and students from the School of Optometry and Vision Science (SOVS) at Cardiff University. Led by Ms. Sasha Macken and Mr. Peter Hong, the group included six students.
Dr. David Grant Robinson of UCC said the collaboration would see teams conduct comprehensive eye screening programs in Cape Coast communities and educational institutions. Prof. Boampong praised the initiative, describing it as vital community service.
The visits form part of UCC’s push to expand global partnerships in science, engineering, and healthcare while contributing directly to local development.
