The initiatives include constructing a highway linking Bolgatanga to Wa through Navrongo and Tumu, connecting the Upper East and Upper West regions. The government will also upgrade Bolgatanga airport and begin the long-delayed Pwalugu Multi-purpose Dam project.
The $900 million dam will be executed in two phases, starting with hydroelectric components designed to generate 60-70 megawatts of power. A solar component will add another 30-40 megawatts. The facility will irrigate 10,000 hectares of farmland and control flooding from Burkina Faso's Bagre Dam releases.

The Feed Ghana Programme will work with local farmers on vegetable varieties to supply the Pwalugu Tomato Factory, which the government plans to reactivate.
