Google has announced that it is bringing Meridian, its open-source Marketing Mix Model (MMM), into Google Analytics 360. The integration is designed to deliver a unified measurement solution, helping businesses leverage cross-channel data to gain a comprehensive view of marketing performance and execute strategic actions.
According to Google, the upcoming integration will focus on three core functionalities for advertisers:
Unifying Insights: Combining first-party, cross-channel data and metrics signals into a single, centralized location.
Pinpointing Performance: Measuring causal performance to identify exactly what drives business results and to optimize the broader media mix.
Forecasting Outcomes: Using predictive scenarios to guide smarter, data-driven marketing investments.
How Gemini Will Connect Ad Spend to Future Sales
In addition to data unification, Google is introducing new features within Google Ads to provide timely insights. Powered by Gemini, a new capability called Qualified Future Conversions (QFCs) will link upper-funnel advertising spend directly to future sales. By analyzing early indicators such as brand searches, QFCs aim to help businesses uncover previously missed revenue opportunities.
QFC Signals to Feed Into Meridian, Improving Forecast Accuracy Over Time
The new updates are built to help advertisers understand current performance and plan future expenditures with greater confidence. Google stated that the predictive signals generated by QFCs will eventually be integrated directly into Meridian, further refining the accuracy of its Marketing Mix Model over time.
