In a press release signed by Director-General Ruth Dela Seddoh, the NSA said attestation letters “serve as an official confirmation” of a National Service Personnel’s status and are issued under the Authority’s operational procedures only after due verification.
The statement lists three points for organisations to note: NSA attestations are valid official documents; they are issued only after verification; and they are intended to temporarily substitute for the National Service Certificate when the certificate is unavailable.

By clarifying the status of attestation letters, the NSA aims to reduce obstacles faced by NSPs who have yet to receive their certificates or who have misplaced them. The Authority encouraged full recognition and acceptance of attestations so that qualified personnel are not disadvantaged when seeking employment, internships or other opportunities that require proof of national service.
Institutions requiring further confirmation were advised to contact the NSA through its official channels, the release said.
