Google has launched a new AI-focused learning initiative aimed at helping educators better understand and use artificial intelligence in classrooms.
The new program, called the AI Educator Series, is designed for K-12 and higher education teachers across the United States. According to Google, the free training series was created in partnership with ISTE+ASCD and will provide educators with practical AI knowledge through short learning modules and live sessions.
Google says the initiative will feature over 20 live learning sessions, with new content expected to be added monthly. The company also described the lessons as both “snackable” and “stackable,” allowing teachers to either learn quickly or take deeper dives into AI-related topics.
The launch comes at a time when artificial intelligence tools such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and other AI-powered platforms are becoming increasingly popular in schools, workplaces, and content creation.
While the program is currently focused on U.S.-based educators, the announcement could still spark interest among teachers and students in countries like Ghana, where conversations around AI adoption in education continue to grow.
The initiative also highlights how major tech companies are pushing AI literacy as an essential skill for the future. Many educators worldwide are already exploring how AI can assist with lesson planning, research, student engagement, and administrative work.
However, concerns about misinformation, overreliance on AI tools, and academic integrity remain part of the ongoing debate surrounding artificial intelligence in education.
