The security measure, which restricts movement from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. local time, takes effect immediately on June 26 following an Executive Instrument issued by the sector minister.
Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak stated that the decision was made based on advice from the National Security Council regarding underlying challenges confronting the municipality.
The affected areas include Keri, Abrewanko, Abrewanko Junction, Nyambo, Nyambo Junction, Shari, Kromase, Power, Nyakoma, Odomi, Bonakye, and the municipal capital, Nkwanta.
"Government urges chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth, and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them," Mohammed-Mubarak said in a statement, calling for the use of non-violent means to maintain regional stability.
The ministry also enacted a total ban on the possession and carrying of firearms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons across the designated communities.
Authorities warned that any individuals found violating the directive or carrying weapons will face immediate arrest and prosecution.
