The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) said the programme would run from December 1, 2026, to January 3, 2027, delivering a nationwide cultural experience built around music, film, fashion, cuisine, heritage, and the creative arts.
GTA Chief Executive Maame Efua Houadjeto said the initiative had grown beyond a seasonal celebration into a broader movement for projecting Ghana's culture and identity on the international stage.
The 2026 edition falls under the GTA's Black Star Experience initiative, which seeks to position Ghana as a preferred destination for culture, entertainment, and heritage tourism. Authorities said this year's programme would place greater emphasis on regional engagement, improved visitor experiences, and storytelling that reflects the country's evolving national identity.
Director of International Affairs Annabelle McKenzie said the objective extended beyond event organisation to creating memorable experiences that would shape how visitors remembered and experienced Ghana, describing the season as one of return, connection, and discovery.
The GTA said it was seeking concepts that demonstrated cultural authenticity, high production standards, strong audience engagement, and contribution to a unified national narrative. Selected proposals would be incorporated into the official campaign and promoted through the authority's local and international platforms.
The submission deadline is Monday, July 13, 2026. Applications can be made through the GTA's official submission portal.
