Beyond its entertainment value, "Dai Dai" carries a charitable dimension. FIFA announced that royalties from the track will go toward the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, with an ambitious goal of raising $100 million before the competition concludes. The fund focuses on expanding access to education and football for children around the world. Shakira, who is partnering with both FIFA and Global Citizen on the campaign, has committed her share of royalties to the fund.
The collaboration marks Shakira's continued involvement with the FIFA World Cup, a tournament she has been associated with through music for over a decade. FIFA separately confirmed she will co-headline the halftime show at the World Cup final on July 19, a landmark moment as it will be the first time in the tournament's history that a halftime performance is featured.
"Dai Dai" is not the only track building toward the official World Cup 2026 album. Previously released singles include "Lighter," "Por Ella," "Echo," and "Illuminate," with more to follow. FIFA said the full album will span multiple regions and musical genres, positioning it as a cultural celebration of the tournament's global audience.
